Anglo American Platinum invites applications for the Mining Cadet Learner program, specifically for those interested in gaining experience with drill rigs and dump trucks. Preference will be given to candidates from host communities.
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to participate in a four-month external Cadet program designed to develop their skills in mining operations.

Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Requirements:
- Grade 12 with Mathematics, Physical Science, and English. (Note: Mathematics Literacy will not be considered.)
- Must achieve a pass mark of 40% and above.
- Health and Physical Requirements:
- Must be medically fit.
- Must be prepared to work on surface operations.
- Must be willing to work according to the work schedule of the site, which may include shift work.
- Citizenship and Legal Requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must pass the relevant psychometric assessment.
- Must pass the K53 Simulator Assessment.
- Skills and Experience:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- A South African driver’s license will be advantageous.
Additional Information
Cadetship Conditions:
- Must be prepared to work in open-cast, dusty environments.
- Must adhere to the work schedule of the site, which may include shift work.
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must successfully complete the psychometric assessment.
- Must provide a medical certificate of health or be able to obtain one.
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- A valid South African driver’s license is advantageous.
