The Presidential Youth Employment Initiative (PYEI), implemented through the Basic Education Employment Initiative (BEEI), is now open for applications! This government program aims to tackle youth unemployment by providing 5-month work opportunities in South African schools. If you’re between 18-35 years old and currently unemployed, this could be your chance to gain valuable skills and work experience.

✔ Duration: 5 months
✔ Stipend: Monthly allowance (amount TBA)
✔ Locations: Nationwide (all provinces)
✔ Eligibility: Unemployed youth (18-35), not studying or receiving grants

💼 Available Positions For Basic Education Employment Initiative 2025
1. Education Assistants (Matric required)
- Curriculum Support: Help teachers with lesson preparation
- ICT/e-Cadres: Assist with school computer systems (tech-savvy candidates)
- Reading Champions: Improve literacy in foundation phase
2. General School Assistants (No matric needed for some roles)
- Child & Youth Care Workers: Provide psychosocial support
- Handymen: School maintenance (trade certificates advantageous)
- Sports/Enrichment Agents: Coordinate extracurricular activities

You qualify if you:
- Are South African aged 18-35
- Are currently unemployed
- Not in education/training
- Not receiving any government grant
- Have matric (for education roles) OR no matric (for some general roles)

While minimum requirements vary by position, these will give you an advantage:
- NQF Level 4-7 certificates (for education roles)
- Trade certificates (for handyman positions)
- Sports/arts experience (for enrichment roles)
